I was turned down for the Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations inspector job. As with the research tech position at Notre-Dame, I was one of two finalists. Oh well, time to keep looking . . . anyhow, someone at the Kansas City EPA office called me for a screening interview.

I fly in mid-afternoon, have my interview Wednesday morning, and fly back up to school Wed. evening. I'd like to spend tomorrow evening in a cafe or the union or somewhere to work on a paper--does anyone know of a place with publicly accessible wireless?

I had been prepared to happily accept the Notre Dame position if it was offered, but they turned me down. They thought very highly of me, but the other candidate had interests and experience more in line with their research.

Stupid Emily and Korisha in Room 121. So they have a few nice cards and a pretty wrapping paper background on their door's corkboard. *I* still should have gotten the Best Door Decoration award, though. >: (

I have such a big room it'd be a shame to let it go to waste. So I'd like to have a party after spring break, but not too close to finals or in the last weekends of April when I have field trips. I was thinking Saturday, April 2. It would be pretty low-key, with snacks, booze, music, and sitting around talking. Maybe playing card or board games ( Read more... )
