yes to the wife and kids. ruined his life? I surely hope not. i pursued the story because i wanted to find something interesting to write about. I dont feel sorry for him because there is no excuse for lying about having a doctorate in the professional world. and if he didnt lie (very unlikely) then he resigned because he wanted to, with severely odd timing. To the public he was not disgraced; all he had to do was tell us where he got his doctorate, simple as that. it was his decision to be honest and straight with us, but he chose not to be.

bottom line, if he did lie then good riddance, if he didnt then he's no worse off anyways with his new job on the coast. he wont starve
