Surely you dont hate everyone here? Because theres a lot of people here to hate. All of that leads to negative outlooks on life and wasting away in hate.

No, no, I don't have everyone, Remus. Just the people who are beneath contempt. There are a lot of them here, and I find myself heaping very large quantities of hate on each and everyone of them. Wasting away? You're joking. Nearly seven years in this school has taught me that hate can be a driving force, shall we say, to imporve oneself.
