I don't care where you live, and I direct this to the countless people who I've known over the years who live in either foothills, or awahtukee, that if you do not lock your door, which is just a simple flick of the wrist, you are not doing the simplest means of protection with little or no consequence for that action of locking.

Whats funny, is that my mom has hard wired me too good at locking the door, that when she went outside to play with the kittens I locked her out. lol.

I know bad things happen everywhere. You can't escape it. There have been plenty of brutal, horrible things that happened in Ahwatukee while I was growing up. Granted they happen a little less often than some places, they still happen. You're not really 'safe' anywhere.

This just caught me off guard because not only is it in my 'neighborhood' and 'close to home'... But it's the apartment complex we *live* in! :/

I am a total freak about locking doors. You don't need to worry there! I have locked Dave out countless times. I do understand what you mean though about not locking your doors. It's still a horrible thing that happened though even if they did leave their doors unlocked.

The neighbor woman he killed though very well could have opened the door for him... I have to say that if my next door neighbor knocked on the door, I probably would have opened it. I will always think twice about it now though...

Katie,

Go to your user info page. Then the first sentence has a link to "edit your personal info." You will have to scroll down until you see "enable message boards." There is an option that says "who can reply to your entries" and you can chose friends only or registered users. You can also not change any of that and just screen your annonymous posts. That way no one else will see them and you can chose whether or not you want anyone to see them after reading them. You may not want to even deal with that though! Anyways, I hope this helps!! :) :)
