It is -14 F outside here right now with the wind chill factor making it feel like -38 F. Wheeee! Many things are closed...except for my office...but half the people won't be making it in due to school closures and train cancellations, etc. But the dis/advantage of being related to ones boss is that you come in on days like this. Especially when ( Read more... )

It's -1 F here with a wind chill of -22 F. We are so not accustomed to this here in Kentucky! The whole family is here at home; I'm working in my bedroom while the rest of the family is in the living room. Rosie has a new book on her Kindle, Kathleen is drawing, and Michael is watching television. Stay warm!

Ooo that is cold for you! Glad you are all safe at home and warm. I'm sitting at my desk with my heating pad on my lap for extra warmth!

GMTA! I carry a heating pad around the house with me. I sit on it when I'm working at the bar in the kitchen.

: ) I figure it is somewhat safer than a space heater. Also it has the benefit of not further drying out the air as a space heater would. Stay warm!

Apparently we broke some record low temperature from 1988. I'm celebrating by wearing a sweater I purchased in 1988...it happens to be my warmest one!

Now that's cold brrr. I wouldn't be able to cope, I hate the cold and would suffer insufferably.

I went to Brid the other day and the wind was biting right through. I think it's best to stay indoors with a good book and the heating on.

You just put on lots of layers for when you have to go outside. It helps when you have a down coat that is good for -50F. The rest of the time you stay inside and hope it warms up soon!

Ouch, I certainly don't envy those temperatures.

Personally I am more than ready to see the temperature here to drop a few degrees below 0 C / 32 F. It has been around 35-40 F pretty much since November, and I am desperate for some snow here! We only get six hours of daylight at the moment, so some snow would make a huge difference. Especially in traffic as people tend to wear dark clothing (and too many don't bother wearing safety reflectors so that one might actually see them). Well, at least we are past winter solstice already, so the days are (slowly) getting longer again.

Stay warm!

I hope you get some snow soon! I do find winters without snow a bit bleak so I get where you are coming from. Its the sub sub sub zero temperatures that I can do without!

And yay to the days getting longer!

We're suffering here in Iowa as well. Luckily, I won't have to go out much until the cold snap is over.

Hope you and Luga stay warm!

I'm glad you don't have to go out too much in this.weather.

We are trying to stay warm! I stayed home from work today due to a worsening cold and have the heat going steadily.
