This weekend was C2E2. It is now in its 4th year and it has really come into its own. It now has the proper amount of space and vendors so there is lots to look at and lots of people browsing but you aren't being constantly run over by a Storm Trooper. There are also a lot more people than ever before and lots more more people dressed up in ( Read more... )

One that is always popular is the International Quidditch Association always comes and has various teams playing throughout the weekend and they do demonstrations with the kids and let them play.

Glad to hear more details. I had a friend from RL there as well who was sending me reports. It was his first con and for years he has gently disparaged cons and especially LARPERS. Next think you know he's got a friend who one 3rd place in the costume contest as Queen Amidala. *chuckle

Wish I could have been there. Friday was the last day of classes, though, so no dice.

I would have liked to have seen the Cosplay fashion show/costume contest. I saw some pictures and it looks like there were some amazing costumes. Although throughout the weekend I saw a lot of women who weren't doing themselves any favors in their costumes.

Btw I liked Jacqueline Carey when she spoke on the panel but she was less than interesting in person. I was disappointed. Charlaine Harris was so much more personable and took time to speak with everyone who lined up to get her autograph even though hundreds of people were in line for her. Carey had very few people lined up for her and when you got to her she barely spoke and didn't try to engage or respond more than she had to.
