montmayne and princess-aasia Should you happen to be passing through LJ and see this...are you planning on getting/reading Burned? Wasn't planning on it after the horrible experience with Iced but I happened upon some spoilers and OMG I am so not going near the series anymore. She has completely and utterly ruined everything I once loved about it.

Oh no, I saw that there was a new KMM book and I was going to buy it to see if maybe it was me and not the series.

What did you think of Iced? Because it sounds like its more of that but worse.

I had no intention of reading it after Iced. I really disliked and was bored to death with that storyline and had no vested interest in any of the characters.

But... I follow KMM on facebook and read some of the teasers and I liked it and caved and bought it the other day. It's on its way to me as I type. Although I'm regretting it now. For me, Mac and Barrons had their story in SF I don't want to read more angst from them, I LOVED Shadowfever and don't want that memory tarred.

What spoilers have you read?

Do you really want to know the spoilers I read? I will tell you if you want. Can I just say it sounds like KMM is doing a lot of backpeddling with this book. And it seems like she has made very few people happy because the people who didn't like Iced are not satisfied with these changes and the people who did like Iced are pissed off that she so drastically changed the direction of the series.

Yes you can tell me. I might not even get round to reading it. I only just about managed to read iced and that was only out of loyalty.

How times have changed...there was a time when I would have downloaded the kindle version bang on midnight if I had been able to.

Yes I remember getting up at 4 AM to start reading Shadowfever and I pretty much read it straight through until I finished later that day! So excited for it and so satisfying to read

I wasn't going to read it but a well meaning family member bought me the Kindle edition so I may read it. Of course, after reading it a may have to reread the entire series (not included Iced cuz...ew) just to purge myself from any potential horrors and remind myself of what I love of the Fever series. Those books were so well done. I don't know what's happened to cause her to veer off so greatly from what was a truly amazing series that had a great ending. Sure, write in the same universe if you want, but please leave all the characters I came to love out of it.

I haven't been paying any attention to Burned. What have you heard about the book?

I can't remember, did you ever read Iced? I remember you weren't but we then you were and we were going to discuss it but never did.

I think even knowing the things I do about Burned the first five books might still be too tainted for me to look at for a really long time.

I did read iced but it was some time after it came out. I started it but had to put it down. But yes, did read it and while not scarred for life, will not reread it anytime in the near or distant future.

I do want to know the spoilers. It will help me decide whether to attempt to read it or not.

I remember hearing bad things about Iced so I didn't read it. I was just going to pick up Burned and see if the series had improved. Which says something for how badly I wanted to continue the series. :( so I'm kinda bummed. Maybe I should leave well enough alone and just let the last Fever book be the end.
