Okay, so I'm convinced my cat just has an issue with being left alone. (considering its only after she has been left alone for 5+ hours that she will pee on things

It does sound like separation anxiety. Have you tried leaving the TV on or a radio? A lot of people hide little treats all around the house for the cat to find during the day. You can also put something that smells like you by her litter box, like an old t-shirt you've worn.
If she's peeing in the same spots (on your bed, by the door, on your shoes, for example) you might get some of those pee pads and put those down in those spots. Then slowly move the pee pads to where her litter box is. This might not cure the problem, but at least it will keep your home pee-free until you find her a new home.
We have tried leaving the tv on, it doesn't help. She tends to want to pee randomly on our couches! I can't take that. I'm going to have to pay to have them all taken to the dump and then invest in new furniture. Once I do that, I definitely can't afford for her to pee on them again. It breaks my heart but I have no idea why she is doing it. She always pees on anything left on the couch by Carissa(she is the only one who leaves things on the couch) or just randomly pees for no reason. Needless to say, I don't use my living room anymore because of her. I don't even want company over until they are taken out of the house. Nothing is getting the smell out. I wouldn't know where to put the pee pads because you never know where she is going to pee. Its really a hopeless/depressing situation.
