you know, i find a lot of relief in folks being open and honest to one another about the first year of marriage. it helps when you know you aren't alone. a girlfriend of mine who got married this summer grabbed me the other day and said, "is it this hard for you too?" and it is. but that doesn't mean there isn't a fix. it's hard because it's hard.

you've been in this community for four years? i see a lot of people post intros that don't really give much insight to who they are/ what's going on. so, thank you!

all I want to know is how to make love stay

This would be a great discussion topic for the community, I know some don't read these intros so they would miss the discussion! My answer goes along the lines of surviving after the butterflies are gone. Not that they ever have to, but typically everyone falls into a rut eventually.. maybe like the ability to recognize love when it's not lovey-dovey over the top honeymoon-esque love?

I am not articulating this thought very well, hopefully my meaning translates into something readable :) I'll give this more thought!

"Albert Camus wrote that the only serious question is whether to kill yourself or not. Tom Robbins wrote that the only serious question is whether time has a beginning and an end. Camus clearly got up on the wrong side of bed, and Robbins must have forgotten to set the alarm. There is only one serious question. And that is: Who knows how to make love stay? Answer me that and I will tell you whether or not to kill yourself."
