Husband (20s/30s) wears cargo shorts/pants and button/collar shirts/t-shirts.

Wife (20s/30s) says to husband that he should dress more appropriately for his age: cut the cargo stuff, opting for straight or tapered angle pants and less trendy shoes.

What say you?

Wife should pick her battles more carefully. As long as he is clean, his clothing fits and he doesn't look like he dropped out of another decade then who cares?

I'm siding with the husband on this one. He can wear whatever he wants.

If, and only if, he is dressing inappropriately for work/work events or social events.

I am technically my husband's supervisor, and I had to have an awkward conversation of, "Hey, you really need to dress more professionally now that you have a grown-up job."

But on the weekends, anything goes. I'm in jeans and a t-shirt most non-work days, myself.

So long as he wears what is appropriate to the right places, I don't really care. When not at work, my husband wears jeans and t-shirts 90% of the time. No biggie.

Husband (40s) lives in shorts and t-shirts, even to the office. When he does wear a suit, he usually wears a black or printed t-shirt under it instead of a collared shirt.

Wife (20s) says cool, wear what you like, I'm glad your job allows you such freedom! Why should I care about "appropriate dress"?
