Make it a priority to put each other first or you'll likely end up coming in last at the end of a busy day.

Be each others' best friend-solid advice given to us on our wedding day...and the advice I give all married couples when they get married :D

If your spouse says something that seems wildly offensive or mean, pause to ask if that is really how they meant to come across before breaking out the baseball bat.

In other words: give each other the benefit of the doubt.

It is SO hard sometimes, but I've found it gets us out of a lot of unnecessary arguments.
