Weekend before last, my mom woke up with chest pains.  She laid awake wondering whether to go to the hospital.  She decided not to go, but I made her promise to go if it happened again.

She just called me and said that it happened again last night and she STILL didn't go to the hospital!  She did at least go to the doctor this morning.  He said

That probably is it. She sounds like the kind of person that takes a lot on and might be under a lot of stress at all times. I'll definitely say a prayer! Please let us know what the tests say tomorrow...

It's probably is acid reflux, since that's pretty common. But even if it *were* heart disease, the main thing is to get her diagnosed. There are very effective treatments for either one, but only if you go get them. It sounds like you're being really great about urging her to get to the doctor. I hope she feels better so that you can, too. Good luck to her!

I hope it's just acid reflux...I have that, and it hurts like hell...First time I had it (I had it once before, but it went away for the longest time), I thought, "Oh, God, am I having a heart problem??", but I'd had it before, and knew what it felt like. It hurts like crazy. It effects me most when I'm laying in bed, or when I've had something acidic to drink (like my beloved Snapple)...

i think it's probably acid reflux, my dad had the same thing.. right now they give him nexium and that does the trick -- bye bye acid reflux

that "disgusting green stuff" is really good stuff, let me tell u! we call it a "green lady" at my work, its gross, but if it helped her, most likely it is acid reflux :)
