guys please help me.

I spent the entire day writing six and a half pages of my thesis and it is all gone. It is so, so, so gone. I opened an attachment that had the first part, wrote six and a half pages, saved it, exited it, and it is not there. Can someone familiar with XP 2007 please help me get it back? Someone tell me it's coming back.

Did you search for it? Maybe you didn't save it to where you thought you saved it.

You have no idea who I am, but that's okay.

Have you tried reopening the attachment? Sometimes that works. Also, if you go to Word and look at your recently opened documents (you can also get there from the Start menu), you might be able to find it.

Do you think you forgot to save it as a new file and so it saved to the temp folder that it was in when you opened the attachment? If so, it's definitely still there, just... hard to find.
