Im so pissed off! My apartment manager is saying that we owe 250$ in back rent because after our lease expired, our rent was supposed to go up to 640$ as opposed to 595. Well then he says hes being nice and not charging us late fees and that if he did, we would owe well over 1000

What a dick. I was thinking that he would have to give you written notice of a rate increase when your lease was up.

A 2bd. in our building is opening up. It's a bit closer in to downtown Portland and the rent is $595, month-to-month and pretty roomy.

Hey, I finally got your message. My bitch of a husband had it saved but didn't tell me. We're going to the coast this weekend to go crabbing (jesus, that sounds hick) but I'd love to do something during the week or next weekend if you are free.

he HAS to give you a written notice - do not pay any 'past due' crap until you talk to a landlord/renter board in your area (there should be something like that around there) - he's trying to screw you over and the law is on your side!! woo hoo :D
