I also told him that the jargon he was using regarding supporting the exclusion of transpeople sounded an awful lot like the separate but equal and he was like, "And didn't that eventually work?" THEN I STABBED HIM.

Haha word. They seem to try to appeal more towards older, moderate Democrats anyway.

I tend to look down on organizations that put pariahs on campuses solely to ask for donations. Explaining what your org is about is one thing but I'm not giving my debit card to some scruffy Phish looking asshole gtfo.

I was on their e-mail list for awhile (loooong time ago, like when I was still in high school) and eventually unsubscribed in disgust because all I was getting from them were constant demands for money and like 4,000 animated flash cartoons a week about how stupid and mean Republicans are. Then after I unsubscribed they STILL kept sending me shit, even after I went to their website and carefully unsubscribed from all their sneaky duplicate mailing lists and everything. I didn't know about the trans thing, but that makes me feel completely awesome and vindicated.

I was on the WWF e-mail list when I was younger and that was ALL they would send too. "Donate 50 dollars and get this cheap ass polar bear stuffed animal :D"

OMG BB. :* Man I want to pinch his little cheeks like there's no tomorrow.

These are my fave non-profits but I also like CARE and Oxfam as well. I mostly donate to local shelters/organizations and keep a circulating $100 going through Kiva's microloan set up.
