My boyfriend came back from the dead to take me on a vacation!

Dec 27, 2005 14:03

Well, that was easy. Probably easier than it should have been. Maybe I pulled one too many strings, especially by getting us a room at a five star hotel, but this is our first vacation together. We'll remember it for the rest of our lives. I think Sam and I would be happier remembering it as a good experience, instead of thinking back and ( Read more... )

"Hey... What's going on?"

Okay, I should have expected that look. It's not like I talk to guys often enough to be walking around with two of them. Especially since Joe's incredibly pretty they're both good looking. I mean, I can't even talk to Dan without getting nervous.

So this would be different.

What do I say? Do I just come out with it? I think that's the best way to do it. Quick, like a band aid. It works out.

"Carly, meet Joe Byrne and Ned Kelly."

Don't look at me like I'm crazy. You know exactly who I'm talking about, and yes it is actually them.

"Joe, Ned, this is Carly." I think realization's starting to set in with her, that's good. Hopefully she doesn't try to strangle me. I can put up a good fight, but I can't exactly take her, and I don't think they'd be able to help so much.

"Obviously, I need a little help with this."

Please don't get too angry, I already know Sam is going to completely freak out, spare me at least a little bit of wrath.

"Carly, meet Joe Byrne and Ned Kelly."

Shit. Arianna went crazy, and now we can't go to Fiji. Damnit, of all times for her to completely lose it, why does it have to be now?! You'd think she could have held off on the insanity for a couple of days, for my sake, at least. I was really looking forward to this. If Arianna is crazy, Sam isn't going to want to go anywhere, and I already made the plans. I shouldn't have to cancel those, Sam promised me we'd go to Fiji. I can't help it his sister is a whack job and finally cracked.

"Sure." I played along with it, stepping back to let them in. They're hot, which means they're definitely not nuts. With men, only the ugly computer geeks go mental. The rest of their sex is busy getting laid and trying to.

"Joe, Ned, this is Carly."

"It's a pleasure to meet ya', Miss Carly."...Did he? Good actor. Good, good actor. Not an outlaw. Outlaws aren't that pretty. They're dirty and gross, and they don't dress like that. Outlaws are not hot, not hot at all ( ... )

"What did you..."

Yes, that's exactly it.

"Oh. Oh, Arianna you were not, under any circumstances, supposed to be doing any more time traveling!"

"I didn't time travel!" Okay, well, actually I did. But there's a completely justifiable thing here. "Well, I did, but I didn't stay for very long. I just stayed long enough to offer them a chance to come along, and I brought them back."

"You think?!"

Oh stop it. Who are you, Sam?

"Arianna, I can't believe you. You knew that Sam didn't want you doing this, and you just..."

"Sam said no more time travelling. But I only went there for fifteen minutes at best, so I didn't think it'd be a problem." Sure, I brought people back, and that may or may not be worse, but they're pretty. That should be consilation.

"So, uh. Yeah. I'm Carly. Not Miss Carly. Carly Greene Manners San Giac--you should both just call me Carly. Can I get you guys anything?"I let Joe and Ned go in before me, wondering how much Sam was going to freak out, if Carly did this much on her own. My brother tends to amplify ( ... )

Looks like Arianna's in a bit of trouble with her friend here. Maybe she wasn't allowed t'bring us back after all. But with the way the girl, Carly's, lookin' at us, I don't think it'll be too much.

"So, uh. Yeah. I'm Carly. Not Miss Carly. Carly Greene Manners San Giac--you should both just call me Carly. Can I get you guys anything?"

"Uh, no, I'm fine, thank you." I walked in and looked around. Sort of like Arianna's place. Maybe a bit more expensive lookin', probably. And some things I've definitely never seen before sittin' around.

Looks like we've got a lot to learn while we're here.

I looked back at Arianna, and noticed that scolded look startin' on her face. The same kind Kate used t'get when she was young, before she realized she couldn't do that anymore. Maybe Arianna's not quite at that point yet.

Then I saw someone comin' out of a room, and looked up.

... This the brother, then?

Definitely easy on the eyes.

I could get used to stayin' here.

Look's like Carly's fellow isn't very happy to see us here. I don't think Arianna told 'em she was askin' us to come and be part of their world for a bit. He wouldn't have been lookin' at us that way if he'd known ( ... )

Well, it went... Alright. Carly stepped in, so Sam's not going to yell too much. He'll get most of it out of the way when he's in there with her. And he might yell later, when Joe and Ned aren't close by, but then it won't be as bad. He loses steam after a bit.

"They should be makin' em like this in our time."

"Make what?" I looked over, and saw what Joe was playing with. I think Carly would be a bit upset if she saw him with that. He just had to find the very tiny underwear. And I just had to have to see it because he found it.

I don't mind that my brother and Carly have sex. As long as I can't hear it, or don't have to see any of it, or anything related to it. It's just a little gross.

"What is this used for?""That's..." I took it from him carefully, not wanting to be rude to him, and then held it away from me. She could have been in these recently. Ew. "That would be Carly's ( ... )

"They should be makin' em like this in our time."

"Makin' what?" What's that little black thing supposed t'be used for? Not much of a rag, now is it? Hardly worth any real use, as far as I can tell.

"Make what?"

"What is this used for?"

I'd like t'know too. Looks like it stretches. What's the point of that now?

"That's... That would be Carly's."

By the look on her face, and by the way she's holdin' it... Oh, so that's what it is? They got tiny after a while. What's the point of still wearin' 'em if they get that small?

Not that I've seen much of women's underwear, but just the same, that's odd.

"Sorry, she just wouldn't want to see you holding that when she comes back out."

Holdin' somethin' like that's par for the course with Joe, but usually they're more than pleased t'let him have 'em. I guess Carly's faithful to her fella.

Wonder if he's faithful to her...

"They'll be out in a minute, they just have to argue."

"They argue much?" Perfectly innocent question. I did hear a little bit of shoutin' a moment ago, so I'm

I wish Miss Arianna'd answer my question. Sayin' its Carly's could mean its just about anythin', couldn't it? An' lookin' at all the things her and her man have acquired in their time, it seems to me that the purpose of such a small piece of fabric could be lost on me. They probably use it to clean that box across from the seat I'm sittin' in.

An' now its bein' taken from me. Hmm. The only thing I've ever had a woman take from me before was her unmentionables, and she kindly gave 'em back when I told her how lovely she was.

"Sorry, she just wouldn't want to see you holding that when she comes back out."

Oh, so that's what they are afterall?

"I apologize, I didn't recognize 'em. They look quite different in our time." They mustn't cover very much. I don't see if there's any point of puttin' em on in the first place if they're so small. Seems to me, a woman would do just as fine without.

Course I think that bout the women in my time, too.

"They'll be out in a minute, they just have to argue ( ... )
