The trench coat does amazing things in terms of adding maturity. Plus, it was a totally practical choice! It rained like hell in Washington that day (which I know because I remember somebody linking the next day to that picture on the Post website, where Pete was not identified by name and was in fact referred to as a constituent of the Senator, who is from Wisconsin. Hilarity!).
