[There's just something about those nature shows, or it could just be that one about deer is on that attracted James' attention. Or at least part of his attention. He's got a few broom-like objects in front of him, and one on his lap. He's swishing his wand, speak out an odd Latin phrase very clearly]

[Knocking on the common room's door, figuring now is as good a time as any to go visiting again. Despite the other crazy shenanigans his "family" has gotten him into already.]

[James starts, cursing that he was disrupted in the middle of his spell, and looks around] Whossat?

[Shifts on his feet a bit, so at least his dad was in there.] It's Harry.

Bloody hell, Harry. You scared me. [James grins, motioning for him to come in] How're you?

[sevenyrsworldly]

[Sheepish son is sheepish as he steps into the room, shutting the door behind him.] Sorry, didn't know.

Alright, I guess. How's your head doing?

It's alright. Only takes a day or so to feel much better after all that. [He picks up one of the brooms to inspect it] I've just got to fix up this one. Broke my concentration.

[Nods and looks at the broom himself, sitting on one of the couches.] Trying to get it to fly?

Yeah, I got Remus and Sirius' toothbrushes to do it, but now I've got to make it happen on this lot. [He hefts the broom, eying it]

...Their toothbrushes fly around? [So damn curious about this because it seems like something his father would definitely do.]

When they want them to, yeah. It was quite the thing when Remus discovered that his had this new talent.

Let me guess, you didn't tell him about it? [Wiry grin]

It slipped my mind. [Yeah, it did. But also he wasn't going to anyway]

[Laughs a little and looks at the broom.] So how goes putting the spell on the broom itself?

[nonmetus]

It's a bit more difficult than I anticipated. [He tugs at his collar, looking down at the broom as well] I've tried twice already, but it won't budge.
