The more things change . . . .
N (who is now almost 11) is playing the original Myst on M's computer. The same game series that M used to play almost obsessively back in the day, when we were right out of college. At one point we had to buy a faster computer because I bought one of the sequels (Riven?) for him and it wouldn't run on the tower computer my dad had put together ( Read more... ) -

Crimson Peak was awesome, creepy (not horror), beautiful, lush, very very sad. If it is possible for a Gothic romance to be Baroque in its Victorian Gothicness, del Toro managed it ( Read more... ) -
Chrome and video
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why Chrome flat-out refuses to play media (YouTube, SoundCloud) whether linked in LJ or Tumblr or FB, but will autoplay things I don't want to see (like news sites)? I've turned off extensions and tried resetting things, but most of the time I have to copy the link to IE and refresh several times. -
