I think the whole "team" concept was thrown out of baseball a long time ago. Indeed, most sports with more than one player on a side. That's what big salaries and social pressure will do, I guess. Sigh.

I generally like to think the Indians are one of the exceptions. >.>

I think they used to be. They had been for ages and are still the best AL team in my opinion, but yeah, they don't need this shit. They're my dad's favourite team (seeing as he's from Cleveland). He used to be an usher for them two stadia ago, back in the 30s.

I guess the answer is to turn off the telly and put "Major League" back in the DVD. That always makes me smile and by the end of it, they ARE a team.

Damn, I thought I had a ML icon. Here, have another movie icon instead.

Sighs again.

Well, in this case it's nothing the players have done, it's just the fans and the media that keep saying this shit. There was actually an article a while ago where some reporter tried to interview the team about whether they wanted Asdrubal to stay and everyone was like "we're not really comfortable talking to you about this, but yeah we want him to stay."

That's really cool, about your dad! I've been a fan since I was a wee little thing listening to them on the radio, but that was still only from the 90s. :P
