[voice]
[There is a note of harshness to Lucas's voice as he begins to speak, an unusual depth that isn't normally found in his shy stammering.  For a few moments, there is the brief illusion that this isn't a little boy speaking any more, but a young man.]

Everyone, please listen.

A lot of strange things are going on again, as we should have ( Read more... )

...Huh. Is that what's goin' on now? [Barton just sounds mildly annoyed.]

The guy in my house just got sick from it. I mean, nothin' that's gonna kill him, I don't think.

Just a little sick? Is it something that I ought to try healing, do you think, or is it not worth it?

Yeah. I found him lyin' on the kitchen floor, but he made it to the bathroom in one piece. I think he'll be okay, but he refuses to go to the doctor.

T-The bathroom...

Well. I guess I won't worry too much about sickness if there are more important things to be taking care of.

...You've been alright so far, miss?

That's what they're putting in the milk?!

a_gentle_boy August 17 2011, 02:56:28 UTC
...Well. It is why we're not supposed to drink it.

[Lucas offers feebly.]

[No one told him that.]

T-that's horrible! Do most people know about that?

I think so. Or at least, I think most people say that you'll die if you drink it. Just not the specifics.

Huhh? Wait, you mean, the milk here is all weird!? [She hasn't seen anything yet, but oh, now Eiko's concerned...]

Ah. Yes. ...We usually tell people when they come here not to drink it, but it looks like it's being... extra-weird about now.

That's so freaky... I haven't seen anything happen yet at my house, though. That's not a bad thing, is it?

No, not at all. If you're lucky enough that nothing has happened, just. Try to stay at home and avoid all of this mess. Sometimes, people are lucky.

Hallucinations.

The person living with me said I looked and sounded like someone she knew when she drank it.

[Swift and abrupt. He's not excited to talk and the little bit of guilt he feels for letting her drink it doesn't help either.]

Hers was harmless. Other peoples could be more dangerous.

That might be something I can cure with PSI, too. Is that person still suffering from the effects?

If the hallucination is extreme enough...

[He lets himself trail off there. Pokey should know well enough what could happen with particularly unsettling ones.]

I don't know.

She went outside for a walk. I haven't seen her since.

Alright. I'll take note of it, anyway.

...It doesn't look like either of us was right about the police chief business.

This all sounds, really intelligent, and I'm not really sure I have anything that is actually useful, to add, at all.

...Tavros!

[Lucas will pause for a little.]

Um. That's fine. It's not really very intelligent, but. It's good just to hear from you again.

Um, yes, it is pretty good to hear from me again, as well, and also you, since I have definitely missed you, because you are my friend.

[Tavros is the only person Lucas knows who can manage to be more disarmingly affectionate than Lucas himself. Lucas blushes a little.]

Y-Yeah! I missed you, too. I was a little worried that you might've, um... you know. I'm glad you're alright.

...What about all of this stuff that's been going on? Have you been involved at all?
