yes! me too.

my friend brendon recorded his album there after hours. it is called 'crosses' by the viking moses. if you go to arthurmagazine.com and click on 'downloads' and then 'golden apples of the sun' i believe you can hear the title track. track 4, maybe?

hmm. that's beautiful, too. i love attending shows at the hideout.

i've read in the discussions that you're playing a show in burlington (or might be), and if you're in vermont, you should considering playing at middlebury. i attend school there (the college); there's a beautiful little cafe called the gamut room (small stage, lots of comfortable seating, nutella-and-apple sandwiches), and my friend books acts for the place: it's open sunday-thursday nights. if you could do a weekend, there's a larger venue, the grille, with two levels of seating and a really well-equipped little stage.

(or, if you can't, my friends and i will brave the half hour drive north!)

i would love to come to middlebury, vermont.

there are two options:
1. i could come on friday, september 16 instead of playing in burlington, but that would mean a bigger venue.

2. or i could come sunday, september 18 and play at the gamut room.

i am leaning towards the second one. i like small stages and apple sandwiches and i like sunday as a day of the week.

but maybe i would meet more people playing on a friday night? which would be best do you think?

just downloaded the songs ... i hear an arab strap influence. a heavy arab strap influence. i'm not usually one to drop names because i don't think it is too clever or heroic or sensitive to the creator. but i just thought you might want to know.

it's simple and nice and rich.

i've never gotten that comparison before, but thank you. i've heard some of their stuff, but never a full album. what's a good one to start with?

my new stuff is different than the mp3's i have up. there's less going on in the recordings, but there's more going on melodically and structurally. everything is played on a classical guitar pretty much.

do you have any ideas for baltimore proper? i'm not terribly fond of the mojo room.

do these people go to bennington college? or do they just live in bennington?

i think they both go to bennington college. they are both on livejournal. if you go to my previous post with comments they talk about bennington on there.

i drove past the stork club today and thought of you.
because you have played there several times,
and each time,
i have regrettably missed it.
next time, next time.

i will most likely be in the bay area in mid-october (14-16). i'm not sure if i'll be in oakland this time. i'd like to do something in berkeley. do you know anyone who sets up quiet house shows in the east bay?

i can't think of anyone off the top of my head, but i will think on it and let you know if i come up with anything.

and again, timing is not what it should be...i'm moving to paris next month, so no mid-october audience-membering for me. if you ever tour in europe, though, and my situation is still anything like i'm thinking it will be, you will surely be welcome to spend whatever time you need at whatever place i'm living.
