I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING BECAUSE IT'S SOMETHING YOU ACKNOWLEDGED IN YOUR ESSAY and which I've never talked about.

Devit won't tolerate him thinking he's better than he actually is, but he won't tolerate him thinking he's worse than he actually is, either.

BECAUSE THIS IS SORT OF NEW FOR DEVIT, TOO, it's not a feeling he deals with often. SO I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT IT :'D

Narcissists do not recognize that they have boundaries and that others are separate and are not extensions of themselves. Others either exist to meet their needs or may as well not exist at all. Those who provide narcissistic supply to the narcissist will be treated as if they are part of the narcissist and be expected to live up to those expectations. In the mind of a narcissist, there is no boundary between self and other.

When I saw this I LAUGHED because it pretty much defines how Devit interacts with people. Instead of the "those who provide narcissistic supply" thing--or in addition to that, maybe--it's "people he cares about," which number very few but of which Shuri is one. Devit has really fucked up boundaries because of his narcissism/Noah sociopathy and also because of the THE BONDS and so . . . when he loves someone, that person is a part of him! Because that's his experience! He loves Jasdero and Jasdero is literally a part of him and that's ( ... )

SOB Shuri reacted pretty badly to Devit being embarrassed on his behalf too because it's like OH NO NOW DEVIT HAS STANDARDS FOR ME TOO, WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN, I AM GOING TO FLUNK EVERY RELATIONSHIP so... I guess he sort of picked up on that vibe subconsciously... :|a

SHURI SHOULD JUST BELIEVE IN THE DEVIT THAT BELIEVES IN HIM! Although that doesn't work with Devit as much because Devit only says nice things when he absolutely has to lol. I'M SORRY SHURI IS SO INSECURE, GOD. He really super needs more friends
