Flax for spinning

I had a friend who gave me quite a bit of flax fiber to spin. It's miserable work for a new spinner. It has to be damp when spun and spun counterclockwise. If you want it or if you know anyone who might, let me know and I'll mail it. Bleargh! I have enough trouble with wool. i'm drawing a complete mental blank...are you spinning on a wheel, or a spindle? either way, kid mohair = yummy. ;0)

A spindle and now that I've done some research I think I may have had wool roving that was too good and what I really need is something a bit rougher with longer fibers. Mohair has longer fibers and I'm making what looks like thread! Happy!
