Flooding Update

Aug 21, 2008 08:36

As of 8:30 this morning the flood waters have receeded and we were able to make a brief tour through the house. Most of the furniture is ruined, we've determined there is an electrical issue where only part of the wiring is working. With the sewer system having failed, the entire house smells like a waste water treatment plant ( Read more... )

HAY

I tried calling you but the damn girl at the front desk wouldn't connect me unless I had the full name of the person who checked in EVEN THOUGH I had the correct number and room number. Needless to say I called about 7 times last night and verbally raped her every time. Did they say anything to you guys at the hotel?

And rape her you did. She's still giving me odd looks each time I go out the door. And one of the other doormen is doing the same, so I'm assuming word of your calls have gotten around lol

Serves that HOR right. You better be glad I wasn't down there, then I'd be raising hell.

Guess what I've been doing the last few hours? Remember that fight I told you about that's been lasting a few days. Well, there's be a resurgence. I'm about ready to skin him. Wanna come live with me?

And I'd be in the corner laughing.

Wow, I thought that had gotten resolved, sorta. Duct tape solves all.

Oh, crud! That sounds miserable. I'm so sorry to hear everything's going to be so nasty to clean up. What a royal pain in the ***! *shakes fist at the sky*

I'm glad you all have a place to stay, though. Snuggle up with the Hieis and stay dry!

Hiei's keeping me sane at the moment because I so want to run away right about now. I need the power of the Jagan right about now to get people to calm down, before I go on a murdering spree lol

Uh-oh. Just what you DON'T need to have to deal with now. Got some tempermental and/or hysterical people getting in the way?

Gods yes, and they're beginning to irritate the hell out of me. Where's my sword when I need it?

Screw the house! Get thine, and Tak's behinds up to NC!

Fay seems to be the proverbial fickle female in that she can't seem to make up her mind what she wants to do or where she wants to go -- other than Florida. Hmmm, must the be Mouse!! ^)^

You don't know how tempting that idea is. It's not like there's really anything left down here but us and the pets. Moving someplace else wouldn't be any harder than rebuilding down here.

For the record, I loathe Mickey so it figures that Fay is sticking around for that reason.

Y'know...I don't think I've seen 24 inches of rain in my entire lifetime...seriously...

Well, maybe stretched over 3 or 4 years...

I'll stay a desert rat. :/

With how much rain we've gotten, it's extremely tempting to become a desert rat as well.

How are you guys doing now? Are you back in the house yet? The clean up has got to be horrendous. I'm so sorry of how badly you got hit. We'll be home on Tuesday and then we'll meet with the contractors about making the final repairs to our roof. They did a temporary patch on the roof so it wouldn't leak while we're gone.

Sarasota has been really lucky only having scattered rain throughout the week. It's just so surreal how one area can be hit so badly where another area, only a few hours away, sneaks away unscathed.

Good luck and let me know how you're all doing.

Love
YLM
