And so it begins

As some of you may, or may not know, I'd gotten a dog back in August of last year. Even though she has the exact personality that I needed for "me", there had been some doubts as to Loki's suitability for some of the things that I'd been wanting her to do competitively. Samoyeds, while wonderful dogs are not known as the easiest dogs in the world ( Read more... )

You've told me that so often... I just never thought I'd find it in a Sammy of all dogs. Another GSD, sure, if I'd ever gotten around to getting one again but now... and you're going to laugh at me here, I don't know if I'll ever look for another GSD.

She might not be typical for a Sammy, who knows. But as of right now, with my experiences with her, I think I've found "my" breed.

Oh my gosh! Is that Loki? When did she get so big? Such a beautiful dog! I wish you the best of luck in achieving your goals and dreams. And I am so very happy to hear how right you two are for each other. ^_^

I'm not sure where the tiny fluffball went that I brought home. It seems like yesterday but obviously the times gone somewhere. My lap dog isn't so little anymore lol

Thank you, I think we're going to have a lot of fun. :)

She's beautiful. And screw the naysayers - you and Loki can so whatever you two put your mind to doing. Good luck in your training, but most importantly, enjoy it!

And you were right in the part of your post where you said "someone" instead of "something." She thinks, she feels, she has her own personality and opinions - that is someone to whom you can matter. And she chose you.

Thank you! I've had so many people over the years pull the "It's just a dog" crap I find myself constantly clarifying just for them, just to stop any potential arguments. She definitely has her own personality and thoughts, and I'm a firm believer in animals having souls so... yeah.

We're going to go for it all. Obedience and agility, I'm considering rally too since she enjoys training so much. I'm already anticipating the laughter and the pointing but in the end we're going to show them it can be done. And we're going to have a ball doing it!

Re: the "it's just a dog" people

I'm sure they're lovely people. But to truly belive that, I think some part of their soul is constipated.

Thank you so much! We're going to give it one hell of a shot. I expanded our goals, since we're going to be doing Agility too, so maybe we'll add a MACh to her list of future titles :D

Christmas was... well... basically any other day lol I ended up catching Whooping cough at the end of November and I'm just getting over it. So I had the fun of spending Christmas medicated and wanting to do nothing but sleep lol

I hope your Christmas was a wonderful one!

*hugs and much love*
