You went to both shows I really wanted to be at :(
I heard that Stars sucked too. One of my friends who went said that The Organ was good but she got a feeling that they won't be around too much longer because she picked up on a lot of animosity within the band. That would suck.

Not having money to see shows sucks too :( poo.

Hey! Come to a show! One I'm actually going to! lol
April 28th, Vyletz and The Cliks
Doors at 9 show at 9:30
$6 no advance tickets

Come! Laura might be coming if she can get Friday off work so you can meet her. We should do food first too.

Yeah, I don't know about The Organ, they didn't really seem to interact with each other much, but I've also read that they're very shy and still getting used to playing in front of larger audiences, so maybe that's it.

I don't know about the show on the 28th... but I will get back to you. Maybe we can do food beforehand, even if I can't go to the show. I'd like to met Laura. :)

Sounds like a nice weekend ;)

So, are you in the education field then? What do you teach?

What kind of food does the pickle barrel have? There was one where I used to live that had the best unique subs... oh I miss that place sometimes...

Yeah, I graduated with my B.A. and my B.Ed. in 2003, but have yet to get a full-time teaching position. I just upgraded my qualifications so that I have the first of 3 parts of my Special Ed.

Sorry. Confusing. I know.

The Pickel Barrel here has just about everything. Sandwiches, pasta, seafood, soups, meat dishes, some Mexican, breakfast-y stuff... you name it, they probably have it!

No, not confusing.
I ask because I am about to graduate with my B.A. in english, and then go into a teaching certificate program.
I am just curious if you like it.. and also about your program. Did you student teach? And if the market is just tight where you live, or is this pretty standard for brand new teachers?

It seems like every state works differently in just how you end up teaching full time.

The program here is a lot different than in the U.S. Here you have to have B.Ed PLUS at least one other undergraudate degree.

I did a concurrent program, which meant that I worked on my Ed degree while in my 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of my Arts degree and then graduated with both at the same time. There are aslo consectutive programs that last one year after you've got an undergraduate degree.

I did three different student teaching (practicum) placements, once a week for a year then a block (2 weeks in my first year of Ed., 3 weeks in my second year of Ed., and 4 weeks in my final year).

For the most part I LOVED my program. I think it prepared me quite well. If only I could get a job... which seems to be a bit of a problem for everyone around here, not just me.
