I would suggest finding a local battered woman's shelter and seeing if they take clothing donations. I give our clothing there, but I've been told not to bother because my clothes are too small. [I'm a size 6/8.] They're constantly in need of larger sized clothes as many of their patrons are in the size ranges you indicate, and it's frustrating/demoralizing to only have too-small clothes to offer. Since you mentioned good cause, and all. That's my vote.
This is probably going to be what I do. I just need to find one that isn't too hard for me to find, cuz I get lost really easily in Seattle, and there aren't any here in Bellevue I dont think.
but yes, I think this is what I'm gonna do with 'em.
I'm going to see if I can find a shelter nearby that will take them!
I was thinking either a shelter or a free clothes house, but there don't seem to be any free clothes houses up here (I'm so not from Seattle) I know that growing up, my family didnt have any money at all, so I always like to help out where people who need it can get it.
I dunno about goodwill being bad, I just know that I'm not fond of them. They used to be a place where people who didnt have much money could go and find all sorts of stuff that they needed for a super low price. Like, dress shirts for a buck. But now that they've started charging almost retail for their items, and they actually go through everything you donate (at least up here) and they reject things that don't look like they'll sell, it seems sort of pointless.
oh, and I know all about the salvation army and their pseudo anti- gay stance, so I stay away from that mess altogether.
Google is your friend, its much easier than retyping all the information here. Just type "Salvation army anti gay" or something along those lines as a search term.
Hey I don't know if you defriended me but I was thinking about you and just wanted to know what was up with you. I hope you're alright and everything is going smashingly well. <3

From personal family experience, they have a really hard time finding plus sized clothing. And it would be a tax write off!
DON'T send it to Goodwill, though. They are bad people. BAD!
