Ha. Kind of an inevitable confrontation, this is, meeting with someone whose beliefs are separated six-degrees from where yours are… I’ve had a pretty similar experience with a Jehovah’s Witness a few months back, whom in first impression seemed like a nice middle-aged lady from Europe. She coaxed me into conversation by noticing something as insignificant as the Kerry ’04 sticker on the back of my car and quickly twisted it into a 15 minute discussion/debate on the idea of the human nature and sprit being intrinsic to solitude and loneliness; she opposed, I quickly wanted out of the conversation knowing, just from the 15 minute conversation, that we were both on different islands.
It’s simple moments like these ones that can literally define your spiritual values.
