It’s been working that way for years now. Still not a guarantee, though. My first stint in fanfic (before I’d even heard the term) was a series of self-insertion fics I traded with other people who did the same; I wrote at least six of those that I can remember, actually started on another, and had planned out one massive three-story sequence that would have taken place over the 1970s, the 1930s, and the 1880s (time travel and reincarnation were involved) … and my circumstances changed, the people with whom I’d been sharing the stories got married and moved out into other lives, and I just never wrote in that genre again. Now other things are changing in my current life, and I’ve been in this phase for nearly 26 years but I don’t really expect it to go on forever, so … who knows?

Yes. The stories are what pull me back too. The ones I want to tell; the ones I want to encourage others to write. ❤️❤️
