So many ways to speak out

Jan 30, 2009 02:39

We've updated our post about the February 7th casting call in Philadelphia with specific information as to the time and place, and several local volunteers are helping to organize a protest. If you're interested in joining in, please do so -- the stronger a front we present, the harder it will be for Paramount Pictures to continue to ignore us ( Read more... )

Just thought everyone should know. I wonder, do we have anything to do with it?

Continuing the conversation about the token Asian characters.

The sad thing is

Sokka is white and Suki is Asian.
Goku is white?! Chi Chi is Asian..

The white guy always gets the Asian girl.
Everybody should watch Wong Fu Production's "Yellow Fever."
My guess before Jesse McCartney's recasting was that Mai was going to be Asian as well. But now that's going to be possibly different.

Hey guys, i really respect what you guys are doing and will spread the word about your campaign. I live in Los Angeles and know one of the East West Players club, they are a historical Asian American theater troop and you donation will be headed in the right donation. I will keep watching for updates just wanted to wish you guys good luck on the 7th. The fact that one of the cast members was changed means you are having some success. Keep fighting, you are doing an amazing job. Just think by speaking up you are costing them millions in PR they can never recover.

For the most part! I had no idea that so few showed up to the protest. I am very much convinced they did that on purpose because so many con's are happening on the 7th including Comic Con. However, all this now told me is what I did was very important. For a while, I thought I was doing too much! XD ( ... )

That is absolutely wonderful to hear about! It is great to know you were able to spread the word as much as you did, especially hitting people who could spread the word even farther! And I can't wait to see the video about the Avatar casting. I'm sure that's going to be very interesting. *nod nod*

Though I didn't hear anything about an Avatar panel of any kind. I watch a number of people on dA who are at NYCC, so I would've thought I'd have heard. Not to mention nothing on ASN. Then again, they've yet to have said anything on the casting, even from a neutral perspective on their news, so I don't know.

WOW! Good work, man! Seriously, that's a lot done for one person. Even if you got 1 person to notice you that would have been an accomplishment already. Way to spread out in the media. Now to think what can I do to cover the ground in my area.. >.>

Also, I wouldn't mind if you messaged me the info for Keith Crow's blog. :3 I would love to thank him as well. *nod nod*
