Apparently, deep fried candy bars are a Kiwi tradition.

And I thought the American South had the deep-fried stuff market cornered, what with their deep-fried turkeys and deep-fried pickles.

I'm sure I've mentioned in here, the strange and thus far unexplained 'attacks' I get on occasion which start with a sense of pressure on the bridge of my nose, and then seem to turn up my sense of touch and pressure so that even the simplest movements feel strange. Can't sleep. Might as well try and finish my travel chronicles. Even though I'm back now. And I have to tell you, friends, it is so damn good to be back. We had warm rain yesterday, and today it's just sunny with a fine northerly wind. I have been just walking around my city and soaking it in; sort of recalibrating. 14th place and two rounds to go. I'm going to go take advantage of the hostel's one large bathtub while the place is still quiet.

But the weather is crap so I've only made one major trip out today, and I keep checking to see how Loren's doing. Info on the tournament is being added to Magic The Gathering's site as it happens. Loren's at 34th place if anyone cares to know. Only one lost match so far, and he's still in the top 50. Three more matches to go ( Read more... )

Woke up early this morning, my neck bothering me. As it does when I'm in a hotel bed; though I bring my travel mattress pad with me it is not the same as my memory foam haven of a bed back home.
