WOW. Blu's right, you do know how to make ANYTHING entertaining, but DAMN. I had no idea THAT much had been going on. ::gentle hugs:: Thank you for taking the time to give us the scoop, and YES we're okay with you being a "nuisance" rather than you going away forever, thankyouverymuch. An Aaron-less world would be a dull, sad place indeed.

You mentioned in your allston_info post that you think you'll make it to ComicCon and Dragon*Con. Dare we hope you'll be up for JadeCon?

Oh, hell, yes. I didn't mention it in the other post because it's a private con, and since I won't be attending GenCon as a guest, but JadeCon is the one con I'd attend during a zombie apocalypse or worse catastrophe. I have my plane tickets and room reservation. The only difference from years past is that I think I'll give the writing seminar a pass this time around - I'm going to make JadeCon all about relaxation.

Oh, that's good news!!!! It wouldn't be the same without you. But YES, make it relaxing. No work! Be the Emperor we know you are and make us cater to your every wish, whim, and comfort!

Aaron

I can't tell you how glad I am that you've pulled through. The world can't afford to lose a writer of your caliber.

Thanks for the kind words. I plan to become that much harder to lose in the future...

Glad to hear that you made it through this. It gave me quite a scare when I first heard the news: it's a shame to lose anyone, of course. I mentioned to you way back at C3 that I always enjoyed your work, especially the justice you gave to Imperial characters like Rogriss--I'll just add that Outcast was probably the first post-ROTJ EU work that I've enjoyed for a while.

But banalities like that aside, I do agree that there's an important lesson in all this. People are important, and it's surprising how oftentimes they just won't let us down.

Stay healthy.

I feel pretty lucky that I've generally been able to view things from a wide variety of character perspectives. The argument between Luke and Daala in Outcast, for instance, is my favorite scene in the book - and was also the most difficult to write, requiring several drafts.

Please, on behalf of all the people who have diabetics in their family and want them to stay around as long as possible, please take care of that end of it.
Never fear. While in the hospital, I decided to live. (An easy decision. I'm a life-long, dyed-in-the-wool, card-carrying coward.)Otherwise at Dragon*Con I shall ask more embarrassing questions about Dash and Hobbie and how Wes ruined them for other men and Lord knows we don't want that. :)
You think I fear such questions? Heh.

Good to hear from you, by the way. I can't wait to see what mind-hurting magic you and your costuming pals come up with for this D*C...

Protip: Should you ever feel the need to trigger a bout of insomnia, researching a friend's medical condition over the Internet late at night is a sure and certain way to do so (at least it was for me).

And here I've been spending so much effort on finding ways not to trigger bouts of insomnia. Foolish me...
