The advertisment for Sony's BRAVIA TV is maybe more stunningly and naively beautiful than any indie film I've seen. It's really an amazing piece of film, with emotional overtones you wouldn't expect from a near silent commercial. Watching gives me goose bumps. You should watch the extended version, the high resolution version if you can bear the ( Read more... )

It's very beautiful, though I was convinced it was just random CG color bits and was surprised to find out it was all real bouncy balls. Odd.

It reminds me of when my sis and I were little, and we had a big bucket of bouncy balls. One of us would sit at the bottom of the stairway, while the other would dump the bucket of balls down on her. The sound of those balls on the wooden stairs would echo in the house.

I saw a video posted about maybe two months ago of a lady standing in her apartment on the second floor videotaping this with a camcorder. It was much quicker in that video (since the balls just flew down the street and that was the end of it), but it was still quite entertaining.

That's really beautiful. It looks illegal, though.

Someone sent me a recording of System of a Down doing an acoustic cover of Blink-182's "Dammit" that's inexplicably good. Though, to be honest, I kind of like the original still, despite myself.

It's illegal if you do it. They got permits and shit.
