This is one of the most hilariously absurd things I've read in a long time. I'm not quite sure I get it, but it's hysterical.

This is sad. I don't think they quite get it.

The advertisment for Sony's BRAVIA TV is maybe more stunningly and naively beautiful than any indie film I've seen. It's really an amazing piece of film, with emotional overtones you wouldn't expect from a near silent commercial. Watching gives me goose bumps. You guys heard of this? The idea is, a buncha people start writing a novel on November 1st, and you get that month (and no more) to finish 50,000 words worth of novel. The basic idea seems to be to break people out of the "I'll write a novel one day" mindset, and give them a structure and a deadline, so they just write it, and damn the plot holes ( Read more... )

I think this is the best thing I've seen in a long time.

At the Sometimes Why show, atrocity_ said it would be cool if you had business cards that you could hand annoying people to tell them to shut up. These cards already exist. Most of the cards are cell-phone specific, but there are several general cards that you could use for people singing along to head phones (an exaple that was used).

Super Mario Brothers 2 started life as a game called Doki Doki Panic. This I did not know.

That explains why SMB2 is so weird. I was gonna say inexplicably weird, but it is suddenly explicable.

Be very careful when scissoring open blister packs to get at the delicious electronics inside.
