This is sad. I don't think they quite get it.

Edit: We got completely sidetracked in the comments, and now there's a pretty good discussion of childrens' novels we've known and loved in there, if you're interested.

I shall check them out.

When I was a kid, it was all Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, and Encylopedia Brown.

I actually have some of my Boxcar books still. I remember really enjoying them. I have thought about reading them again, but I am scared that it will ruin any good memories.

I remember being all over The Babysitter's Club, too (can't imagine you boys were very into those). Those were all the rage in upper-elementary. And yeah, I did the Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, and Laura Ingalls Wilder. I also read A Wrinkle in Time in 2nd grade and didn't quite get it. But I loved Hatchet.
Oh yeah, and the Hank the Cowdog series.
