No reports of deaths yet, fortunately. I have a cousin who lives down there, but she's been heard from.

Yep, that's right! Though the quake was apparently felt all the way up to the middle of the North Island. :)

Glad you're cousin is safe. I was amazed to see that there were only two reported serious injuries and no deaths as of midnight GMT. I hope that hasn't changed.
