I give up.

Oct 13, 2008 11:25

I am almost completely out of both money and food, and I don't know how I am going to survive. I think I've lost my will to fight. :(

Don't give up. It's miserable, I understand. (I do know how you feel - I went through a period like that in Boston). But don't give up. Have you had any luck with any temp agencies? Are there more you can try?

*hugs* I have no idea how to help you out but I'm wishing good things your way :)

I know it's so hard, especially right now. Nobody wants to be hiring or even getting temps these days. Have you considered applying for Starbucks/reaturant type jobs? I know it's not even close to what you want to be doing, and isn't really enough money, but sometimes just having a job to go to is good for the self esteem.

Well, either that or stripping or prostitution.

Good advice elsewhere on this post... I'm just posting to wish you well and that you can keep your spirits up to try to get through this.

Zorpo is right that it's a really tough time in the job market right now. Here's hoping you find a job to pay the bills while you do your internship (congrats on that, by the way!).

PS - In the meantime, if you're out of food, can you apply for food stamps? http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/outreach/states/new-york.htm

I second the "have you tried temp agencies" poster above. Two friends of mine recently got jobs through Atrium, and I've gotten jobs in the past through Kelly Services and Spherion.

I'll echo the "don't give up." I wish there was something I could do to help you. Alas!
