Sunday is Easter and I will be celebrating the resurrection of the Lamb of Hosts by traveling via Amtrak down to New Orleans for the NCEA conference. I will doubtlessly enjoy a drink on the train. Possibly ( Read more... )

I'll be traveling down to New Orleans myself in July, also via Amtrak! Can't really beat that $36 one-way price. While I'll get reimbursed for it, since it's for work, I'll be very happy to have all the conveniences of air travel, with none of the TSA-driven costs or borderline sexual assault.

Yeah, train travel is the way to go. One caveat: The crescent route don't serve the alcohols on the Lord's day, which is somewhat of a shame, since I had hoped to stumble off the train unaware of what day it was. As it happened, I arrived painfully aware that it was Sunday. Plan accordingly.
