There are so many things I love about this, I can't form words. I love the way Neela sees Abby, so different from the way the rest of the world (or at least County) sees her. Love the metaphor of Canada. That last line breaks my heart a little bit, and I'm not even a big fan of Gallant. And that whole fourth paragraph? You have beautiful writing, woman.

can I tell you that I squeed when I saw you'd written Abby/Neela, cause I totally did.

all of this is perfect. and that last line broke my heart, even if the whole Neela/Gallant thing irks me.

I don't know how I feel about the whole Neela/Gallant thing. I was feeling it before he left, but once he was gone and Neela and Abby were close...no.

I so agree with you aeonian, since Gallant left, I've been super-happy with the closeness of Abby/Neela.

As for your writing- its excellent and I hope you write much more in the future.

Yeah. And I'm so torn about what will happen if/when he returns, because I did love Neela/Gallant before he left, but now...hmm, maybe a new OT3? ;)

Thank you! I tend to disappear into the briny deep of schoolwork for months at a time...I'm on a bit of a writing kick right now, but I have another midterm coming up, sadly. There's some Susan/Abby and other stuff on my journal, though, if that floats your boat.
