Hearing but not Understanding

You ever say something that's quick and witty, totally in character, but someone misinterprets it? Or worse, they won't let you explain the interpretation that you meant to have? Or worst of all, you're not sure how the heck they understood it? Yep, story of the weekend.

Would that I could shrug off the harsh words of another, indiscriminately thrown, but unambiguously received.. Would that I could march from the Kasserine to Berlin with having to trudge through Sicily, the Appenines, and the vineyards of Provence. Would that I could devise a bridge to recross Acheron, which I have left so far behind me. As I stumble through the bocage, I ask, "Is it possible that through this manifestation of divine opposition, there lies a happy ending? A reunification delayed a lifetime lies just beyond my grasp.

Thanks for your support. I pray that I can draw some kind of redeeming lesson from experiences such as these. Maybe I ought to rely less on my head and more on the thoughts that can spring from it when I take the time to let them.

Glory be to modern communications. From heartache to heartbreak to status quo pro ante in record time. I never did like roller coasters.
