It's so nifty that you've set this in NYC. I just love the idea of Kara with a Soho gallery. And Lee in a suit?? *dies* (I do hope Baltar's paying him well though - that bottle of scotch from an NYC hotel room minibar is probably like $200.)
"Cottle? From the service?" Lee laughed. "The chain-smoking old coot?"
"Yeah - turns out he's a New Yorker, born and bred,
Truer words have never been spoken. Cottle's an NYC lifer if there ever was one.
"Kara, I haven't seen you in three years. Nothing you could say would bore me. You could read the back of a cereal box - I could listen to you all night." This line really made me smile. Somehow the idea of either Kara or Lee reading the back of a cereal box just tickles me. I wonder if they'd argue over who got the free toy inside
( ... )
Hee! I can tell you're a New Yorker!!! I'm Brooklynese by adoption, and still might move back someday, as some of my bestest friends are there.
Thanks so much for your feedback. I do think bsg tries to draw some parallels with our real world at times, and I liked the idea of taking that one step further - really making their world our own.
Oh Gods this is good. I didn't review the other two chapters cause I was so anxious to move on! I love the interaction between Lee and Kara, and the fact that the only reason Kara is still with Sam is becuase he's dying-- WHOA. Good!
Now, you need to update one of your stories. Any story-- Chasm and Flood, this one, doesn't matter. I just love your stuff and I need MORE! Im like and abelard junkie! ;-)
Thanks so much for this great feedback. I definitely want to update all these stories but am not clear on the order *or* the timing yet - I promise though I will get around to everything sooner or later!
Wow...so you are responsible for not just one but two really great stories now (this and C&F).....no pressure or 'nothin, but more power to you! I am totally loving both of these fics and looking forward to more.
