Taragel mentioned this fic in her finale review post, and I realized I'd never read it, though I read a bunch of your other fics I think of ff.net? #1 especially is so moving, so appropriate for the finale, and so much what I needed to hear and wished the show had communicated the way you did.
OMG. I know this was written years ago, but I just found it and I am like, flailing with love for it. I want to quote my favorite lines, but I think I would end up just quoting the whole thing.
They are so sad. The characterzation was perfect. Lee's despairing acceptance that he will always love her and that it will never end well. And Kara's motivations here are exactly how I imagined them. The problem isn't that she isn't sure of her feelings for Lee or doesn't love him enough, but that she loves him so much she can't imagine that she won't hurt him.
And I loved the last section with Tigh. Of course he would understand, and of course he wouldn't lie. Perfect.
My eyes are glazed with tears as I write this. The images your words have brought to life are burned in my eyes. It was so real, so sad, so them.
And Tigh at the end... shined him in a new light for me, I wasn't a fan, I'm still not but I got it, got him for a moment there and it was beautiful and honest.
