There are some people who see it that way even with abortion existing. I'm just saying.

That said, yes, I think that's how people might look at it, but it would probably be as divisive as abortion is now.

I can see it. I remember one of the South Dakota legislators who supported their little abortion ban talking about how back in the good old days, when a guy knocked a girl up, they got married, gosh darn it, and they raised that unwanted baby with the help of the community, and everything was awesome! By those standards I can see how putting a child up for adoption would be seen as as irresponsible, or at least as less responsible than doing it the old-fashioned way.

There will always be people who want to decide what the only proper way of doing things is when it comes to someone else's body and reproductive rights. So, yeah, I can see that happening. Especially since I believe that a lot of people against abortion are against it because it allows a woman to not take on the role of motherhood. The same people who don't want women to have that control over their bodies would probably object to women choosing to give up children for someone else to raise.
But adoption and abortion are valid ways of handling 'problems', and sometimes a real, responsible adult finds it a valid choice to not bring a child into the world, or to give up the child they brought into the world to someone who can (hopefully) care for it better.
