I couldn't agree more about "The Writing Life" page. It was really good at helping me form my ideas and get them onto a page in a way that meant something. The other page...can't remember the name...was really useful too. The one that shows how to pull ideas from things that you never would have though of. Like an old picture or a grocery list. It was a great page too.

After reading your blog and the part about The Memory Archive, I went back to take another look. It was really helpful to see how other people talked about events that mattered to them and how they used different writing styles to convey their emotional response or even their understanding of what happened. It helped me figure out how to write my memoir.

I agree, I must admit I was a bit "dazed and confused" on how to start my paper until I explored all the helpful hints and information on how to write this paper. I think we all must have some direction now!

Do you find that step 8, taking risks, is the most difficult in collage and university? I find myself always worried about doing the wrong thing, or writing the wrong thing. I tend to stick exactly to what the teacher has told us to do. I am not sure if this is such a great thing. For our first essay I tried use step 8 and take mt writing anywhere it wanted to go. I felt I wrote a lot better that way.
