Baby Shower Help!

I'm planning a baby shower in the beginning of August for a friend of mine.  She's expecting a girl and is having a co-ed baby shower.  Although I've already got a few things in the works, I'd love any suggestions, ideas, games, etc... from all my fabulously creative LJ girls!

Kids will also be present so I'd like to have some activities for them.

I will come back to this post again but I just wanted to ask a quick question about the Superman drink game. Will everyone at the shower understand the association b/w Superman and the baby's conception? And is that something mom/dad are open to discussing? lol I am just curious:)

I think most people are aware of the story, and their parents are cool with it too and think it's funny. I think the mom-to-be is okay with it because I was talking with her when I came up with the idea. She laughed so I'm guessing it's fine. Good point and I'll make sure to double check with her to see if it's cool.

I was wondering the same thing as ssstephaniem, but think its a really cute and clever idea! Sounds like it'll be a pretty young and hip crowd at the shower so they probably wouldn't mind.

I love the bib decorating idea. I did something similar for a friend's shower. We decorated onesies instead. It was so much fun to see all the crazy designs people came up with (the baby was conceived in Japan when my friend went to see her husband while he was on deployment with the Navy...so we made one that said, "Made in Japan")

That same friend had a different couples shower that I wasn't able to go to, but I heard they had an evening of competitions between the guys at the shower --a tournament of sorts. The games included things like a race to see who could chug beer from a baby bottle the fastest. She said it was a lot of fun.

I think the sparkling lemonade idea is great especialyl since the guest of honor will be able to enjoy it immediately. But yeah, doesn't go so well with the Superman idea...

I think the superman wine bottle is cute, esp if the shower is in the late afternoon or evening. Are there evening showers? Anyway, it takes the edge off for couples who are not thinking of TTC or that TTC might be a hot topic for. And you can can have the lemonade as an alternative. I'll bet I know the lemonade you're referring to. Pretty, French bottles?
