The mother was also characterized as a dumb, overly sentimental ditz that held her family down. It was meant as humor, I suppose, but I think it could have offended some mothers. After all, they are the ones who nurture and care for the well-being of their child more; they don't act reckless or drunken.
It's a nice movie, I suppose, but when you do step back and think about it... it loses it's glitz.

just by watching the movie i can still see that until now in a new generation women are still not treated fairly we are still discriminated in so many ways and one sample of it is in the movie. I think we should stop it learn to stand up and be proud to say that we women can also do what man can do.(stephanie villota -302c)
