While I've had the word "manager" in my title several times in the last 10 years (at IBM, and Ass-enture, and in the Internal Audit division at the bank), and I've led teams (up to 50 people at one point, in fact), but I've never officially had people reporting up to me. I'm on a security architecture course all week at work. It's not nearly as interesting as it sounds, so far.
Well, in this case, "all week" means up until Thursday - Friday I'm flying to L.A., just for the weekend. -

Anyone following what's going on in Cyprus these days? Basically, like several other European nations, the economy there is a bit unstable, and they've asked the EU for assistance. However, the EU has attached proposed conditions to any bail-out, originally including a 10% tax on all deposits. Now they're limiting that to deposits over 100,000 ( Read more... ) -
