I'd previously posted about how DHS-sponsored law enforcement "fusion centers" are utterly failing in their assigned goal, to help local law enforcement work with federal authorities to identify and prevent terror attacks. Instead, they seem to be just another pork barrel.

I'd like to know how the people of Ohio feel about the underwater robot, if they feel any safer for having it.

Wow. I love the whole "lets just throw money at it without thinking it through" attitude going on here. I don't know if I'm just cranky from doing the night shift and having a cold, but I'm comparing this to the amount of money that was spent developing a pen that would write in space, and the Russians took pencils. Over complicating things and spending lots of money does not add up to the best solution. And they wonder why their economy is in the tank.

I'm mostly over on Facebook these days. Sad, I know. I do intend to post here more often, but you know what they say about good intentions. Of course, if work ever figures out how to plug the firewall hole that I exploit to get to FB from my cubicle despite their corporate "rule", I'll probably be on here more often again. :-)
