today marks the 40th anniversary of the Beatles appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Those that know me well, know that the Beatles are most def my favorite band of all time and that john lennon is my favorite member of the "fab four

The Beatles are cool and all, but I don't see how they brought an end to communism (I assume you're refferign to the USSR, because there are still communistic countries around today).

And I'll make my usual statement that communism isn't bad, it's great. The problem is that it usually (or maybe always) becomes corrupted when put into action.

hmm..i guess what i meant by that statement is that the beatles really influenced slavick teens and culture (russia, czech repub). and maybe it is too much a stretch to say this..but i mean i kinda feel that a little reason the berlin wall fell was because of the music from the beatles. what they inspired and sung about was the reason for why the wall eventually fell..i dont know..its a long shot and u def dont have to agree though

Thanks for explaining it. I see what you mean, and I guess they might have had some influence, but I don't think it was very much if any.

Emily! I love the Beatles too, of course... the only reason I knew that this was the 40th aniversary of the Beatles performance on the Ed Sullivan Show is because of a very cool article in the new Rolling Stone Magazine... I'd be happy to let you see it if you wanted!
